guyette and deeter

November 16 & 7, 2002 Easton, Maryland

800+ lots. Featuring decoys from the collections of George Combs, Jr., and the collection of Ralph Selby, Jr. On November 6 & 7, 2002, Guyette and Schmidt, Inc. conducted it's annual fall decoy auction at the Talbot County Community Center in Easton, Maryland. The auction was held immediately preceding the Easton Waterfowl Festival and was well attended. The sales for the 2 days totaled 1.2 million dollars with sixteen items selling for over $10,000. Shorebird decoys, fish plaques and fish decoys, and decoys by the Ward Brothers, brought strong prices. There were many new buyers in evidence, both in the audience and bidding by phone. Catalog sales have increased for the 7th consecutive auction which suggests that the decoy market is expanding and flourishing.
