Crowell decorative and North Carolina decoys push Guyette & Deeter sale to $625,000

Charleston, South Carolina - Guyette & Deeter, Inc. held its sixth annual decoy auction in partnership with the Southeastern Wildlife Expo in Charleston, South Carolina on February 17, 2018. The auction was held at the Charleston Marriott in the same ballroom as the SEWE vintage decoy show. The sale was within estimate, grossing $625,000, with nine lots selling for over $10,000. The sale featured decoys from the collections of Delores & Richard Bergeron, Loy Harrell, Larry Hughes, Bill & Lorraine Hurd, the Charlie Joiner estate, Jim Lewis, Sr., Anthony Marro, Ethel Potter, the Townsend Family, and Wayne & Faye Watson.

Guyette & Deeter's next sale will be held on April 26 & 27 in St. Charles, Illinois. The sale will feature decoys from the collection of Peter Brown, the most extensive known collection of Canadian decoys. The consignment deadline for this sale is March 3, or until full.
