St. Michaels, Maryland – We are excited to share the results of our Fall 2023 Fine Sporting Arms Auction. Hailed as “The Sporting Life Auction of the year” the sale lived up to its name while delighting both buyers and consignors alike!
 
Headlining the auction were a selection of phenomenal investment grade American Sporting shotguns by Parker Bros., A.H. Fox, Lefever Arms Co., L.C. Smith, and Ithaca Gun Co. Results across the board were robust with two Parker Shotguns leading the sale and breaking the $100,000 mark! Lot 1, a spectacular Parker VHE Grade 410ga Skeet Gun sold for $120,000, and lot 2, a wonderful and near mint Parker VHE Grade 28ga with its original box and paperwork sold for $108,000. Other notable sales were a very rare Parker BHE Grade 28ga selling for $84,000 while a splendid pair of Holland & Holland shotguns made $78,000. 

Fine sporting arms weren’t the only area of high strength. Lot 114B was a terrific Lynn Bogue Hunt painting which sold for $54,000 against a high estimate of $24,000. Lot 114C was a very fine painting by David Maass which set a record for the artist bringing in $42,000 against a high estimate of $18,000!

A new category of interest in this auction was highly engraved revolvers. There were 6 highly engraved Colt Single Action Army Revolvers in the sale which made strong results with the first lot, #402, topping out at $13,800! In all, the 6 engraved Colt revolvers made $43,800 in total sales.

Guyette and Deeter’s next live auction will be November 11th and 12th at the Country School in Easton, MD.
